Friday October 11, 2024 10:00am - 10:50am PDT
This session will be for districts that have the Accelerated Reader Program. Stephanie will show you the reports she utilizes in her classroom with her students on a weekly basis to track independent reading. She will share incentives she uses to help motivate her students to become more independent readers. If participants have used AR previously, they too, will be able to share how they used the program in their classroom. Part of this session will be discussing possible school wide incentive ideas to increase independent reading with elementary age students.

Oregon's Early Literacy Framework: Joyful Research-Aligned Literacy Learning
Friday October 11, 2024 1:00pm - 1:50pm PDT
To provide a research-aligned and joyful vision for literacy learning, in 2023 the Oregon Department of Education released the Oregon Early Literacy Framework. The framework, along with the Early Literacy Success School District Grants, provided investment and guidance to enhance early literacy instruction in Oregon. Join us for an engaging session designed to develop participants’ understanding and importance of Oregon’s Early Literacy Framework. After an overview of the framework, participants will choose a section of the framework that they would like to explore more deeply. Educators will reflect on their own practice and role in promoting early literacy and leave with concrete ideas for enhancing literacy instruction.
